Diners rave about the lobster, fresh and sweet, making it a must-try dish. Many enjoy the seafood chowder for its rich, buttery taste and chunks of local fish. The squid starter steals the spotlight and highlights the focus on freshness. Particularly appealing is the casual vibe, perfect for solo diners or groups looking to relax. Guests appreciate the unique BYO drink option, allowing for a personalized dining experience. Whether it's the inviting atmosphere or the welcoming staff, wonderful reviews highlight Moran's as a standout in the local dining scene.

Most Disliked

Some guests note the small space might feel cramped during peak hours, especially with groups. The BYO drink policy, while unique, surprises those unfamiliar with the concept, creating confusion for some diners. Limited toilet facilities require patrons to visit the pub next door, which some find inconvenient. A few diners have mentioned the service can become slightly overwhelmed during busy times, leading to longer waits. Despite these minor issues, the overall experience at Moran's still earns praise for its delicious cuisine.

Absolutely love this place! The staff, the location and the food 👌👌👌 I highly recommend a visit. It's bring your own drink and they work in partnership with the bar across the road who let you use their toilet facilities and you can bring drink from the pub into the restaurant. I recommend you book your table as it's always very busy.

My favourite seafood restaurant in Northern Ireland. Each time we have visited it has been fantastic and they are so accommodating when it comes to the menu.

The family and I had a fantastic meal here on Sunday past. The service was excellent with all the staff being very friendly. We shared some starters which were all good with the squid being a standout. My two boys and I all had the lobster which was beautifully fresh and sweet. My wife had the chowder which was delicious also. I would highly recommend Morans and will be visiting again soon.

We stumbled upon Moran’s after a quick visit to a Pub across the road. We brought our beer from the Pub to Moran’s (a weird concept for Canadians!) as they are not licensed. We enjoyed an amazing fresh seafood lunch. My daughter ordered fish & mash which she ate every single last bite of. I ordered the most delicious and fresh seafood chowder I’ve ever had - filled with local fish in a rich, smooth and not-too-heavy creamy sauce with fresh herbs. Oddly, we were sent back to the Pub across the street to use the washrooms, but this just added to the small-town N. Ireland vibe. Amazing to see 2 businesses complement and support each other! Thanks for a surprisingly amazing lunch - we truly enjoyed our experience!

I had a genuinely lovely evening at Moran’s. The setting is peaceful and welcoming, with a warm atmosphere. The food was delicious — fresh, well-prepared, and full of flavor. What truly made the experience stand out was the service. I was served by Meabn, whose kindness and quiet professionalism left a lasting impression. Her calm, friendly manner made the whole evening feel personal and relaxed. Looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend Moran’s — not just for the food, but for the people who make it special.

This is my favorite place to eat in Northern Ireland! Friends came to visit this week and I drove from Derry to Glenarm, just to share it with them. We all had ribeyes from the local herd of short horned cattle paired with a local lobster. We brought in a bottle of wine from the bar across the street. Moran’s exceeded my expectations, again! Nice work, Sean! Love this place!
